We Love Animals

Breanna & Cassandra are animal lovers and support what they do at the NIWRA! Here is a little about them: Founded in 1985, the North Island Wildlife Recovery Association (NIWRA) is a non-profit, world-class rehabilitation facility situated on 8 acres of immaculately manicured grounds, caring for animals with all types of needs, including birds with broken wings, orphaned black bears, electrocuted eagles and much more! See below to adopt and animal.

NIWRA’s main goals are to:

– Reintroduce as many animals back to the wild as possible.

-Educate the public about wildlife and environmental issues.

Welcome to your home away from home in Victoria, BC

Jeneece Place is a home where children and their families can stay while receiving medical care in Victoria.

Envisioned by Jeneece Edroff and owned and operated by Children’s Health Foundation, Jeneece Place is located on the Victoria General Hospital grounds, housing 10 bedrooms; a kitchen; dining, living, and playrooms; and a backyard where kids can feel at home. Jeneece Place has hosted more than 2,760 families since opening its doors on January 21, 2012.

Cassandra’s firstborn child was diagnosed with a diaphragmatic hernia when he was 12 years old. This is a very rare condition for a child of 12 years old to have happened. It usually is picked up in the prenatal ultrasound. This usually results in surgery at birth. Marek had a full recovery and surprised the medical staff who were shocked by his attitude and ability to go home from NICU in 10 days which was supposed to be at least 2 weeks in the hospital. Thanks to Jeneese Place we had a place to stay. Cassandra stayed for the full stay with her son. Their family donates yearly to support this amazing home away from home.
