Introducing RENE QUALIZZA
It was almost twelve years ago when I met a friend’s girlfriend at my wedding. That girl was Rene, although that friend and her went on to get married to other people, our paths have crossed in music. We are happy that Rene has made her way to us and we could not be happier to add her to our Moonshine Mollys Family. Here is a little bit about her in her own words.
“Ok so I started performing arts at the age of 3 at Bea McLeods Dancing School and then went off to Kirkwood Academy of Performing Arts and continued on with Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Musical Theatre. During my time at Kirkwood Academy I had the experience of performing at EXPO 86. I was in the Vancouver Island Idol and was in the top 20 and it was then I was told I sounded like Sheryl Crowe. What a compliment eh? Born and raised in Nanaimo BC, I was brought up listening to Elvis and all the oldies, but goodies. I also sang with my church worship team at St Philips Anglican Church. I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful boys, Zachary and Nicolas, whom I sing along with in the car during our daily travels. Performing has been in my blood since I can remember and I always had dreams of being part of a band and rocking it out on stage. I love to watch the audience sing and dance along and just have a great old time and I’ll be the one dancing and singing on stage with my pigtails on!”, Rene Qualizza
